Christian's first days at home

Some of Christian's first moments at home were spent just hanging out with mom and dad! We introduced him to Emmitt upstairs in Daddy's sports room (will he grow up to be a cowboy's fan?!), gave him his first bath, had tummy time, met his sisters (our three dogs!), and he met friends and family who came over to bring us food - thank you! The bath went well I guess. :) But we soon realized our little guy does not like to be exposed! Since then, we've figured out how to keep him somewhat covered and have eliminated some of the tears. :) He's doing well! We've been pretty amazed at how strong he is. Right away he was able to lift his head so well and was even "skooching" with his legs.

Cuddling with Dad and Sophie! All the dogs have adjusted pretty well to Christian. They followed us around the house for the first few days, but now, life seems back to normal.

Here are some of our first moments ... burping! He's done pretty good with that, but has had about 1-2 weeks when our big issue was gas! I know this surprises all of you who know my husband. :) Anyway, we've moved on from that to spitting up. Super! But overall, he's a good little guy. We'll keep him. :)

Christian David is here!

And he's 1 month old already! Wow does time fly. :) Our little guy was actually born right on his due date! Surprisingly, that was unexpected! We've spent the last few weeks adjusting to life as parents and me adjusting to life at home - with no computer! Fortunately, last weekend, we finally got a computer and got internet set up at home ... and I just got all our photos uploaded, so get ready to see lots of pictures! Here are a few just to get us started. :) I'll do my best to post something each week ... but clearly I have a lot of catching up to do! So I'll try my best to get you all up to date. :) Life has officially changed for the Hammonds, but only for the better. :) We've been blessed with such a little miracle! Christian has been doing GREAT. He's a bright-eyed little munchkin! I can't wait to share his little face and all his cute moments with you all ... here we go! I'll start at the beginning and then try to get us up to speed over this next week. :)


Those famous words ... "I think it's time!"




Waiting ...! We arrived to the hospital at midnight - September 30. Christian arrived at 12:26pm later that day. Needless to say, we didn't sleep much that night. :)

Everything at the hospital went very well and we all had a clean bill of health. Thank you all for your prayers and for the wonderful "showering" of gifts! We feel so blessed to have you all in our lives to share our little bundle of joy! More to come!

3 more days?

We'll see! That's when our due date is - September 30th! Hopefully you now feel all up to date on the Hammonds - at least as far as Baby news goes! Our next post should be announcing Baby's arrival - and finally his name! After that, we'll do our best to keep you posted as Baby grows and changes. :) Thank you for your prayers as we get ready for this new and big chapter of our lives! Our two will soon be three ...!

Amazing!

I can't believe what great pics we got of our little guy! We went in on August 3rd for a 3D ultrasound. Baby was sleeping, but I think that turned out to be a good thing - better than trying to take pics of a wriggling baby! See a couple of our favorites below ...

It's a BOY!

Here he is ... Baby Boy Hammond. VERY exciting news!! I had a feeling all along it was a boy, but Mark was convinced we were having a girl ... either way would've been great, but inside, we were both hoping for a little boy as baby #1. :) His first picture is below from our ultrasound on May 8, 2007. His head is on the left (profile) and he's sucking his thumb. What a cutie! (But then again, I am a little partial!)

And yes, Sophie had her puppies too - FOUR! 2 girls and 2 boys - SO adorable. Here they are at 7 weeks old ... just before they were off to new homes (I still don't know how we didn't keep one!)

We found out the news on my birthday - January 28, 2007. Then, proceeded to take another pregnancy test the next day, and the next day, and then off to the doctor's office the next day - which was Mark's birthday - January 31! I guess you could say I needed some "official" confirmation. :) We had been waiting a while for this day and I wanted to make sure it was "real" before we got too excited. SO, after much assurance and confirmation from the doctor, we knew that yes, indeed, we really were going to have a baby. Yay!
